Tesouros do Bosque is dedicated to organic farming. This method of production aims to produce high-quality, healthy food while promoting sustainable practices that have a positive impact on the agricultural ecosystem. Thus, through the appropriate use of preventive and cultivation methods, it improves soil fertility and biodiversity.

In Europe, organic farming is the subject of specific legislation, Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 of 28 June 2007, regarding organic production and the labeling of organic products, establishing detailed standards whose compliance is monitored and certified by bodies accredited for this purpose.

Organic farming does not use synthetic pesticides, synthetic chemical fertilizers or genetically modified organisms. In this way, food is obtained without chemical residues, the health of producers is safeguarded by avoiding contact with chemicals that are harmful to their health and the soil, water and the surrounding environment are preserved from contamination by pollutants.

In organic farming, crop protection is based on prevention. We use varieties that are resistant to pests and/or diseases, rotations and intercropping are carried out and areas of spontaneous vegetation are preserved, thereby preserving the habitat of auxiliary plants. Control methods are also used, such as biological control, mass capture using traps with food and/or sexual attractants and the use of pheromones to prevent pests from mating (sexual confusion).

In addition to production, Tesouros do Bosque distributes organic products from a number of our Portuguese partner producers. The aim of working only with Portuguese producers is to reduce our environmental footprint and develop organic production in our country.

Our producers are our biggest commitment, and we are always looking for new partnerships with organic producers. Would you like to join us?
